Face-Melting!

We had a glorious time last night out at the Verity Room watching our friends (can we call them that? I mean, they know who we are -- though at first there was a moment of "huh?" when we walked up not dressed in Faire garb* -- and get a hug or handshake every time we see them so... friends? right??) The Pirates Charles perform.

Damn, can those guys PLAY**.

Amazingly, it didn't even take us all that long to get out to Canoga Park***. Especially considering that Los Angeles is on Fire again. Gah. Can we stop it with the fires for five seconds, please? But I digress. The drive was quick and we arrived just in time to say our hellos, receive aformentioned hugs/handshakes & a handfull of "thank you for coming" and to watch the soundcheck.

Sweet.

Honestly, if you think they are something else at Faire unplugged, you really need to see them all electrified. The kick-ass version of "Talderoy", two of my personal favorites: "Master and Commander, Sebastian Blast" and "Raise the Whiskey High" AND the best all time cover of "Psychokiller" (ever, in the history of all covers. EVER.) made all the tiredness which assaulted my mind and body today entirely and completely worthwhile, justifiable and down-right necessary.

And the rest of their all-request set rocked too!

Harle!

(And from what I understand, they may be putting some of the evenings renditions on their MySpace at some point in the future also. So "Huzzah!" for that as well!)

*Heh. I wonder what it says about us that people have to think a minute before they recognize us when they see us NOT in garb.

**And I mean EVERYTHING. I don't think there is anyone in that group that doesn't play at least 10 instruments each.

***We thought that we had made quite the drive by the way but were outdone by a guy we met at faire last season who drove up from the Escondido area to attend the show. Yup. He won.

Epic.

One upon a time there was The Hookah™.

It was much loved and many great and wondrous things were perpetrated while in the midst of it. (One of which would be the partnering of Dennis and myself *loves*, behind the very back of Evil, no less!) She was indeed, a grand and magnificent Hookah.

And then, alas, she was gone.

And Melissa was left without a hookah at her home (where pretty much everything happens) to fire up at gatherings, celebrations and parties.

It was truly a sad, sad, situation.

*weep*

BUT THEN!

Dennis had and Idea, and Nicky quickly lit a fire under it (like usual - it's what she does) and the next thing I knew we were off on a quest to procure a new and improved The Hookah™, of which Dennis was to be the "Master", Melissa was to be the "Keeper" and the rest of us were to be the "partakers of a vast and sundry Good Times™"...

And all would again, be right with the world.

So we went and picked it up and while we were there, we marveled at all the other hookah and shishas and hoses and other fantastic things (like a *make a hookah out of anything* kit!) that we may be able to sell at our up and coming booth which will at the very least, hopefully and quickly, become a great and fun way to feed our Faire habits!

HUZZAH!

The End...

...Or is it!

Bored, bored, bored.

I hate being bored. Especially when I know damn well that there are a hundred and ten things that I COULD be doing but yet I am not.

Laundry, she be one 'o the hundred and ten.

Cleaning cat boxes, she be two.

*sigh*

But neither of those things brings me any joy, except of course the clean clothes and non-stinky cat boxes at the end of my endeavors.

*SIGH*

I'm just so glad that come this Friday I will have enjoyable things to do (gaming with M. & N. and then the party on Saturday) which involve my sweetie whom I haven't really seen all week because by the time he gets home from work, I am generally already fast asleep on the couch and I barely open my eyes long enough to brush my teeth, wash my face and stumble off to the bedroom to go back to sleep which isn't what I'd call "quality" fricking "time" with My Man.

*whew* Run on sentences make me tired. I think I need a nap.

'splaining

So yea, I guess I ought to explain this whole *New Blog* thing...

When I first started blogging many years ago (I've had I think maybe 3 blogs in all, though only one of them lasted for any great amount of time) it was more of a way for me to vent about stuff that pissed me off or to amuse myself with random crap.

Mostly however, it was because I was lonely, and didn't have many friends or social activities.

All of a sudden though, since Evil left and Love walked in, not only did I have friends and social activities, I started having a hankering to write to them and about them which was really, really hard seeing that I had spent a great amount of time and effort to keep my "Internet world" and my "real world" in two separate boxes. Not to mention the fact that a few undesirables (*cough* a questionably stable xboyfriend and an asshat xhusband to name but two *cough*) found their way into the box and THAT is never a good thing.

So here I am, standing at the precipice of a Brave New Blog™.

I'm not sure what all I'm going to be writing here but hopefully, it will be something worth reading when I'm 80 and have my life to look back on, so that I can reflect upon all the good (and probably the occasional not so good) times I had.

Here goes...

So here I am, at the new blog. *waves*

If you are reading this, then I guess you are too. I'm not sure what to write just yet, but I am sure that eventually, something worth writing - and reading - will come to me and there it will be.

Eventually.
