Oy vey.

Seriously. Someone at the counter when I was cashiering yesterday actually said that.

Of course, in his defense, if my car suddenly required $800.00 worth of work, I'd probably say it too and I AM saying it, to tell you the truth, because it's been a good long while since I actually called in to work and said that I was too ill to come in.

Generally, my tactic tends to be *show up until someone sends you home*.

*sigh*

But on doctors orders (I even got a note), today I am staying home. For a full 24 hours of NON-STOP REST. It will be infirmary day around here too because my sweetie is also home, still nursing his fucktarded up finger.

Oh. Did I fail to mention The Finger?

Seems that while he was attempting to prepare a hamburger last Sunday, he had an unfortunate kitchen accident and sliced it right open (to the bone even) which required six very expensive stitches (seeing as he is currently lacking in the insurance department) at the ER. My poor baby! It makes me sad when he is hurting! !

*cries*

So, my man and I will be at home today, together, each treating our separate ailments. Him, with Neosporin®* and "if you try to wash the dishes I will KILL you", and myself with copious amounts of peach-mint flavored promethazine cough syrup with Codeine* *hick*, ridiculous amounts of fluids and plenty of resting my voice.

Gah.

Because given as much as I love to hear it, y'all know how much I will HATE resting my voice.

*Because, swear to God, if it EXISTS it has a webpage.

*Cough*

I am not sure which kind of crazy is afoot here but I am going back to work today despite the fact that I still feel entirely like crap, have no voice whatsoever and when I went out yesterday to feed my brother's dog (which took all of five minutes)? I returned home exhausted and needed to lie down and catch my breath.

Yea. This sounds like a GREAT idea.

I am fully expecting to be sent home and probably should be but on the off chance that I make it to the end of the day, I think I will ask my manager if I can take a half day tomorrow so that I can go to the doctor and see what the hell is wrong with me because I haven't been sick for this long in AGES and I suspect that if I haven't kicked it by resting by now, I probably need an antibiotic or something because HELLO.

SPRING OJAI IS IN LESS THAN A WEEK.

And I will be severely upset if I have to miss it because I am still fucking sick.

Bleh.

So. Tired. Of. Sick.

SO.

I got sent home again folks, because no one wants what I've got and to keep that from happening, I was ordered to leave; Go home; Don't want to see you no more; Get some rest; See you Monday, buh bye.

*sniffle*

*cough*

*wheeeeze*

Yea, I can't blame 'em. I don't want what I've got either.

Sick.

My sinuses hate me.

*sniffle*

As does my throat.

*cough*

Why is it that I always manage to get sick at the most inopportune times? (like at month-end when the entire month's accounting needs to be closed. GRRR.) And why is it also that the only medicine that makes me feel even the slightest bit better knocks me right the hell out leaving me entirely incapacitated and unable to function at work.

*SIGH*

I hate staying home from work.

There is always a billion and a half things piled up on my desk when I get back, even on a slow day which was definitely NOT the last day of the month. Fortunately, I managed to make it in for a few hours yesterday though, so when I get back in today there will only be about half a day's worth of crap for me to catch up on which is good because I kinda still feel a bit like the walking dead...
